Skoda is preparing a major update for the Kushaq, its popular midsize SUV that first arrived in 2021 under the brand’s India 2.0 strategy. The model helped Skoda build a strong base in the competitive Indian SUV market, and now, with rivals offering more features than ever, the company is ready to refresh the Kushaq with a facelift expected in early 2026.
Improved Styling
The 2026 Kushaq has been seen on test multiple times, and the design changes point toward a cleaner and more premium look. The SUV will get a new front grille with slimmer vertical slats and redesigned headlamps that flow better with the updated fascia. Inspired by the new-generation Kodiaq, the connected DRL gives the front end a more modern appearance. The fog lamps are also expected to be larger for better visibility.
Along the sides, the overall silhouette remains familiar, but Skoda is adding new matte-black alloy wheels to give the SUV a sportier edge. This engine can be paired with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
The second option is the more powerful 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, tuned to deliver 150bhp and 250Nm of torque. It comes mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, known for its quick shifts and smooth performance.
Skoda is also considering a transmission upgrade. The current 6-speed automatic offered with the 1.0-litre engine may eventually be replaced with a localized 8-speed automatic gearbox. This new unit is expected to improve both performance and efficiency, though it may not arrive immediately with the facelift and could be introduced later.
