JSW MG Motor India has officially confirmed that the updated MG Hector and Hector Plus will make their debut on 15 December 2025. To build excitement ahead of the launch, the company has shared the first teaser, giving a brief look at how the refreshed SUV will appear. The video highlights the illuminated headlamps, fog lamps, and the signature MG logo, offering a hint of the design direction for the new model. While full details will be announced during the launch, the teaser has already revealed a few noteworthy updates.
What the Teaser Reveals
The 2026 MG Hector will introduce a revised front look, centred around a new chrome-finished grille with vertically styled elements. The updated face is expected to be paired with a redesigned bumper and a fresh skid plate, giving the SUV a more confident stance. MG is also likely to offer new dual-tone alloy wheels, adding to the visual upgrades.
Most of the lighting elements, including the LED DRLs, headlamps, fog lamps, and taillamps, appear unchanged from the current model. In terms of size, the Hector will continue with its familiar proportions, which include a length of 4,699mm, width of 1,835mm, and height of 1,760mm. So, while the changes are subtle, they refine the overall look without altering the SUV’s road presence.

Engine Options
Under the hood, MG is not expected to introduce any mechanical changes. The 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine will continue to deliver 143PS and 250Nm, while the 2.0-litre diesel engine will offer 170PS and 350Nm. Gearbox choices will also remain the same, with a 6-speed manual as standard and a CVT automatic available exclusively with the petrol variant.
By retaining the proven engine lineup, MG aims to maintain the Hector’s performance characteristics while focusing this update on design and features.
