Nissan is preparing for a major comeback in India. After a quiet phase, the brand is now working on a fresh lineup of models that will start arriving next year and continue into the following years. If you have been waiting to see what Nissan brings next, here’s a clear look at the five new Nissan cars planned for the Indian market.
Nissan Tekton: A New Mid-Size SUV for India
Nissan’s first big launch in this new phase will be the Tekton, a mid-size SUV developed using the same platform as the upcoming Renault Duster. Built on the CMF-B architecture, the Tekton is expected to arrive by mid-2026.
The SUV will carry a bold, upright stance inspired by the larger Nissan Patrol. It is likely to feature connected LED DRLs, squared wheel arches, stylish alloy wheels, and hidden rear door handles for a cleaner profile. The cabin will focus on premium touches, including a soft-touch dashboard with layered styling and glossy trim inserts.
The Tekton will pack modern features such as a 10.1-inch touchscreen, a digital instrument cluster, 360-degree camera, ventilated seats, automatic climate control, and a 6-speaker sound system. Higher variants may also include Level 2 ADAS. Engine options are expected to include a 1.3-litre turbo petrol, a 1.5-litre NA petrol, and a 1.2-litre mild-hybrid unit.
Nissan Sub-4m MPV: A Budget-Friendly Family Car
Nissan is also preparing a compact MPV based on the Renault Triber. This new model will use the same CMF-A+ platform but will carry Nissan’s own styling cues. The first public reveal is planned for 18 December, while prices and full availability are expected in early 2026.
Although it shares its body with the Triber, Nissan will redesign the front with a new gloss-black grille, a chrome accent, and updated LED DRLs featuring the brand’s latest design language. The interior will also receive small changes to give it a distinct identity.
The MPV will offer features such as a touchscreen infotainment unit, digital driver display, 360-degree camera, AC vents for all three rows, fabric upholstery, and automatic climate control. Power will come from the familiar 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine that produces 72 PS and 96 Nm.
Nissan Tekton 7-Seater: A Bigger Alternative
Nissan is also working on a seven-seater version of the Tekton. This model will be aimed at buyers considering SUVs like the Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari, and Mahindra XUV 7XO. It is expected to debut in early 2027.
The design will remain close to the standard Tekton but with a longer wheelbase to make space for the third row. Nissan may also add a few styling differences to set it apart from the five-seater model.
Nissan’s Upcoming Budget EV
Nissan wants to strengthen its presence in the electric market as well. For this, the company is evaluating two possibilities:
a compact EV based on the Renault Kwid EV, or a small electric SUV derived from the Magnite.
If Nissan chooses the Kwid EV-based model, the car is expected to offer 24.3 kWh and 26.8 kWh battery packs, with a claimed driving range of around 250 km. While Nissan hasn’t shared the launch timeline yet, industry expectations point to a debut sometime between 2027 and 2028.

Nissan Patrol: A Premium Flagship for India
To complete the lineup, Nissan is preparing to bring the new-generation Patrol to India. The latest version of this iconic SUV keeps its traditional boxy shape but looks far more elegant and premium than earlier models.
The interior will be loaded with high-end comfort features and advanced technology, matching its flagship positioning. Under the hood, the Patrol will use a 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 that produces 425 bhp and 700 Nm, giving it strong performance for both highway cruising and off-road driving. It will be imported as a CBU, which positions it as a top-tier offering.
Final Thoughts
Nissan’s upcoming lineup shows a clear strategy: offer fresh designs, competitive features, and a wider range of choices across different segments. From the Tekton SUV to a new MPV, a seven-seater, an affordable EV, and the premium Patrol, the brand is preparing for a strong return to India. With launches spread over the next few years, Nissan fans have plenty to look forward to.
