Mercedes-Benz has officially revealed the 2026 GLB, a compact electric SUV that promises more space, more range, and a major step forward in in-car technology. The new model will be available globally in the coming months, with European customers getting the chance to configure their units from December 8, 2025. The first set of variants is scheduled to hit the market in spring 2026.
A Fully Electric GLB with Impressive Range
The latest GLB marks the brand’s shift toward a more electric-focused lineup. The SUV now runs entirely on electric power and can deliver up to 631 km of WLTP range, making it suitable for long journeys without frequent charging stops. Buyers can choose between five-seat and seven-seat layouts, giving families more flexibility depending on their needs.
Variants and Expected Pricing
Mercedes-Benz will introduce two versions at launch. The entry option will be the GLB 250+, which produces 200 kW and comes equipped with EQ Technology. It is priced from €59,048. Those looking for more power can opt for the GLB 350 4MATIC, delivering 260 kW and starting at €62,178. When converted to Indian pricing, these figures stand at roughly Rs 61.8 lakh and Rs 65 lakh, respectively.
A New Digital Experience with MB.OS and MBUX Gen-4
One of the biggest upgrades in the 2026 GLB is the move to Mercedes-Benz’s MB.OS operating system, which supports the brand’s fourth-generation MBUX infotainment platform. Depending on the configuration, customers can also opt for a Superscreen that stretches across the dashboard, giving the cabin a modern and futuristic feel.
The virtual assistant inside the SUV has become smarter too. It uses AI developed with support from Microsoft and Google, enabling the system to understand conversational commands and delivering navigation powered by Google Maps. This means better routing, faster search results, and a more natural interaction between driver and car.
More Space and Practicality Than the Outgoing Model
Compared to the previous EQB, the new GLB grows in size and utility. The wheelbase has been extended by 60 mm, providing noticeably more room in the cabin. Passengers in the second row benefit the most, with up to 68 mm of additional legroom.
Storage space has also improved. The five-seat version offers 540 litres of luggage capacity, and the front of the vehicle features a 127-litre boot, the largest seen in any GLB model to date. For those who need more utility, the electric GLB can tow up to two tonnes. Mercedes-Benz also confirmed that 48-volt hybrid variants will join the lineup later in 2026.

Charging and Performance Capabilities
Both launch variants use an 85 kWh lithium-ion battery paired with an 800-volt electrical architecture. This setup supports DC fast charging up to 320 kW, allowing drivers to add around 260 km of range in just 10 minutes.
Performance figures are strong for a compact electric SUV. The GLB 250+ accelerates from 0–100 kmph in 7.4 seconds, while the more powerful GLB 350 4MATIC completes the same sprint in 5.5 seconds. Despite the difference in performance, both models share a top speed of 210 kmph.
Final Thoughts
The Mercedes-Benz GLB 2026 brings a significant upgrade to the brand’s compact SUV lineup. With a long electric range, a smarter digital interface, improved cabin space, and fast-charging capabilities, it aims to serve both families and tech-focused buyers. The upcoming launch in spring 2026 will mark an important milestone as Mercedes continues expanding its electric vehicle portfolio with models designed for everyday practicality and premium comfort.
