Kawasaki has launched the 2026 Versys 650 in India, updating its popular middle-weight adventure touring motorcycle for the new model year. This new version replaces the earlier model and comes with a slightly higher price and a refreshed colour scheme. Apart from these changes, the motorcycle remains the same as before in terms of features, engine, and overall riding character.

2026 Kawasaki Versys 650 Price in India

The 2026 Kawasaki Versys 650 is priced at Rs 8.63 lakh ex-showroom. Compared to the previous model, the price has gone up by Rs 15,000. Earlier, the bike was priced at Rs 8.48 lakh. Kawasaki has not added any new features or mechanical updates with this price increase, making it a straightforward model year update.

What’s New in the 2026 Version

The most noticeable update on the 2026 Versys 650 is its new paint finish. Kawasaki has introduced a fresh Metallic Graphite Gray and Metallic Spark Black colour combination. This replaces the older grey and black shade used on the previous model.

In the new version, the grey colour is more visible on the body panels, while the black sections have been reduced. The familiar green accents are still present but look more subtle than before. The front suspension forks and alloy wheels continue to be finished in black, and the exhaust remains silver. Overall, the bike looks familiar but slightly cleaner and more refined.

No Changes to Design or Riding Setup

Apart from the updated colour, the Versys 650 remains exactly the same. There are no changes to the frame, suspension, or overall design. The bike continues to offer long suspension travel, a comfortable upright riding position, and good wind protection from the front fairing and windshield. These qualities make it suitable for long highway rides and touring.

The comfort-focused nature of the bike is unchanged, and it still balances everyday usability with touring ability, which has always been the main strength of the Versys 650.

Features and Equipment Remain the Same

The 2026 Kawasaki Versys 650 continues with the same equipment list. It gets a 4.3-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity and smartphone support. Safety features include traction control with two riding modes and dual-channel ABS.

Other key specifications like suspension travel, ground clearance, seat height, kerb weight, and fuel tank capacity remain unchanged. These numbers are carried forward without any updates, showing that Kawasaki has focused only on a cosmetic refresh this year.

Engine and Performance

Mechanically, the Versys 650 stays exactly the same. It uses a 649cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled petrol engine that is now compliant with E20 fuel. This engine produces 67 PS of power and 61 Nm of torque and is paired with a 6-speed gearbox.

The braking setup also remains unchanged, with dual disc brakes at the front and a single disc at the rear, supported by ABS. Both front and rear suspension units continue to be adjustable, allowing riders to tune the bike for comfort or load.

Final Thoughts

The 2026 Kawasaki Versys 650 is a simple model year update. Buyers get a new colour option and a higher price, but the motorcycle itself remains unchanged. If you liked the Versys 650 before, you will feel right at home with the new version. However, for buyers expecting feature upgrades or mechanical improvements, this update does not bring anything new beyond fresh paint.
